The Traditions Engagedfestival will be spotlighting Gaudiya Nritya artist, Mahua Mukherjee.  She will be performing with her troupe on Friday, October 1 at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts at 7:00 PM.  For tickets and registration for Tradtions Engaged, please visit this site: Registration.

Dr. Mahua Mukherjee trained in the ancient dance form of Gaudiya Nritya under Padmashri Gambhur Singh Mudha, Purulia Kushan, Shashi Mahato, and Narattam Sanyal.

She is a dancer, teacher, choreographer, researcher and Director of Gaudiya Bharati & Mitrayan.  Additionally, Dr. Mukherjee is also a professor of dance at the Rabindra Bharati University.

    its great to hear and see that bengal has also a reach tradition of dance form which has contributed a great deal in varous dance form of India. I want to thank those who have revived this dance form and taken to the world arena.
